L&D Consultant / Online Community Builder
This is actually my typical outgoing message when I've just connected with someone on LinkedIn. Let me know if this helps - or hurts you! LOL
Hi Holly, thanks for connecting with me! I’m glad we’re now in each other’s networks!
Be sure to let me know about any topics that interest you or projects you’re proud of and want to show off. I try hard to actively support my connections by reacting to, commenting on and sharing their posts. Algorithm shmalgorithm, I’m here for my peeps!
Likewise, I’d take it kindly if you’d think of me should you hear of a consultative or leadership opportunity in HR or L&D. My most successful new partnerships often start thanks to recommendations from those I’ve worked with in the past and/or my amazing L&D network. 🙂
My 2025 so far has found me focusing on being rather than doing, speaking on L&D-themed podcasts: https://bit.ly/422EjWv (and yep, I’m always looking out for my next speaking opportunity), engaging with and learning from professionals in different industries around the world, and promoting the value of authenticity in the workplace.
I’ve also recently been tapped to be an “iSpring Ambassador” and have been helping to grow their LinkedIn Learning Exchange community, been presenting at L&D-themed conferences, and have just accepted a new role as a DevLearn (conference) Influencer. So… there’s been quite a bit of “doing”, too!
What are you leaning into in 2025? I’d love to hear!
Have a great day (it’s yours, isn’t it?) 😉

About Me:
For 15 years I lived, performed, and worked in NYC, supporting a variety of financial services customers as Director of Client Learning Programs at The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC).
In 2022 I moved to Lakewood, CO (just west of Denver), launched Lighthouse L&D Consulting, and began collaborating with clients from all over the world in many different industries developing specialized, performance-based learning solutions.
I still perform original folk/rock music with my wife Julie (an amazing musician/therapist/human who uses Accelerated Resolution Therapy to provide genuine relief to those suffering from PTS and other trauma), support wildlife (esp. in my backyard), am happiest when producing an original song or voiceover, LOVE helping aspiring L&D enthusiasts craft their preferred career trajectories, and remember fondly the 30+ years I spent sailing in and around New England with my Dad.
What’s it like being YOU?
