70: Deepening Learning and Measuring Core Skills A Conversation with Cognitive Psychologist & Classic Rockband Lead, Steve Joordens, Co-founder & CSO, peerScholar

Overview

In this episode, I got to interview cognitive psychologist, Steve Joordens, who also happens to be a co-found of a fantastic ed tech tool called peerScholar. Steve titles himself an unintentional entrepreneur, but he has really created something astounding with peerScholar. There is a lot to learn from Steve in this episode including how to have cool hobbies and be an amazing instructor of large courses (1800+ learners!). I really enjoy this conversation and learning more about psychology and its connection to ed tech. It’s time to grab your headphones and tune into this episode!

The efforts of our lab have been recognized by many awards at the institutional, provincial, and national levels. For example, I was named a 3M National Teaching Fellow, and peerScholar itself won the National Technology Innovation Award from The Learning Partnership.
